Who is eligible for free ceiling insulation?
You are eligible for free ceiling insulation if you:
- Are a home owner-occupier Are a landlord (or a tenant with landlord’s permission) The property does not already have ceiling insulation or has limited ceiling insulation
- Are installing insulation in an existing home (excludes new homes or extensions to existing homes)
- Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 years or over.
- Have not been granted assistance under the Australian Government’s Solar Hot Water Rebate program since the rebate was increased to $1,200 on 3 February 2009 for that dwelling.
Is fibreglass the next asbestos? A Fibreglass (or glasswool as it is now called) insulation has been in use around the world since the mid -1930’s. Glasswool insulation has been comprehensively researched over more than 30 years and the World Health Organisation has concluded that glasswool does not pose any serious health hazard.
Are we government accredited? Yes we are registered with the government.
Do we employee subcontractors? No, all Thermal Solutions employees are on a full time basis.
What is the difference between fibreglass and glass wool? Nothing they are exactly the same product, different companies will just use a different term.
Do we use Australian products? Yes, We use Pink Batts which have been used for over 50 years.
What is Ceiling Insulation and is it necessary? Ceiling insulation is a barrier that prevents heat flow from outside into the house and from the house to the outside. If you have ceiling insulation, your home will remain warm in winter and quite cool in summer. When you have properly insulated your house, you will be able to cut your heating and cooling bills by up to 40%. Further, the greenhouse gas emissions generated from your home will also be reduced, thus offering better environment.
